SouthTrust Taps KOMPSYS to Handle System-wide IPT Conversion

Background
Based in Birmingham, Alabama, SouthTrust Corporation is a $50.6 billion regional bank holding company that operates more than 710 branch offices and 882 ATMs in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The company ranks among the nation's 25 largest banks by assets. SouthTrust is a Forbes Platinum 400 and FORTUNE 500 company that trades on the NASDAQ Stock Market under the symbol SOTR.

Challenge
During the system-wide implementation of the CISCO AVVID IPT Solution, SouthTrust required additional technical support to evaluate and resolve issues with the convergence process and to successfully complete the Rapid Deployment project.

Solution
KOMPSYS provided mid and top-tier technical support for SouthTrust Bank in the form of troubleshooting and fault isolation for the deployment and operational support of its Cisco Call Manager Centralized Call Processing solution. KOMPSYS provided software configuration support for Call Manager, Unity Voicemail and Web Attendant in addition to Router and LAN switch configuration. This AVVID solution consists of the following inter-connectivity devices: Cisco IP Phones and Attendant Consoles, VG200's, Catalyst 3500 and 6500 switches, 2650 and 7200 series routers. KOMPSYS also served as the technical interface with Local and long haul providers resolving complex frame-relay and ISDN PRI issues. (Mar. '02 ­ Present)

Result
KOMPSYS replaced legacy PBX systems, supporting 9, states to VoIP and managed SouthTrust's $14 million equipment investment. The Cisco AVVID project currently represents the largest Call Manager VoIP PBX deployment in the Southeast, with more than 10,000 IP phones and 700 sites in a Centralized Call Processing model design. KOMPSYS consultants worked with SouthTrust and Cisco employees.
